Here at SSE, we have built our sponsorship portfolio with an investment strategy which is focused on our brand promise - Proud to make a difference.
Our sponsorship values are centred on reach, reward and reputational benefits. We still support local communities through our local community funds , designed to put something back into the places where our customers live and work, and our Be The Difference volunteer programme.
In 2013, we opened the doors of The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, the world’s second busiest music arena* which continues to attract the biggest stars in the business. We have since furthered our sponsored entertainment venue portfolio with the opening of The SSE Arena, Wembley and more recently, with the announcement of our sponsorship of Belfast’s Odyssey- now known as The SSE Arena, Belfast.
More recently, SSE became the official partner of the Women’s FA Cup, the largest cup competition for female footballers in England.
SSE is also proud of the continued role it plays in Welsh Communities, through the SSE SWALEC brand, and supports cricket with the title sponsorship of The SSE SWALEC stadium - the home of cricket in Wales.
Our SSE Reward scheme continues to offer our customers access to tickets up to 48 hours before general release at our venues, as well as upgrades into our exclusive lounges and additional activities at events. SSE customers can register for these benefits at ssereward.com
Both nationally and locally, we have made a commitment to emerging talent and encouraging participation at all levels in sport, such as the SSE Wildcats programme. SSE was the official Partner of the 2014 Commonwealth Games which put Glasgow on the world stage. In the lead up to and during the games we started our SSE Next Generation Programme, a legacy project from our Commonwealth Games sponsorship in partnership with SportsAid, which ran until early 2018.
